WAYS Drill Team
Our Drill Team program is a fun, recreational youth program that introduces dancers to age-appropriate drill team style dance fundamentals, basic technique, formations, and performance skills! Designed to be inclusive and encouraging, the program requires no tryouts or prior dance experience.
Participants are placed on teams by grade level. We're currently accepting 3rd through 6th graders. We’re proud to bring this new opportunity to families in Wylie and surrounding communities, including Murphy, Plano, Lucas, Parker, Sachse, Garland, Richardson, Rowlett, and beyond!
The drill teams provide entertainment during the Wylie Area Youth Sports tackle football games plus other performance opportunities throughout the surrounding communities. The official season runs from September through November each year with additional events before and after the season.

Performances
Each team will perform at about 8 football games, 3 local parades, plus other community events.
Practices
Teams practice 2 times per week - usually Tues/Thurs from 6-7:30pm
Practices are held at various indoor and outdoor locations.

2026 Drill Team Schedule
**Coaches Needed**
All of our team are coached by volunteers and we are always in need of Coaches and Assistant Coaches. All coaches must be at least 18-years old or older, pass a background check and be willing to commit their time and effort to a squad for the entire season.
Coaches do NOT need to have any previous dance experience. Dance choreography and counts are provided by drill team leadership.
Registration may close early if all spots are filled and we can find coaches for new squads. Please consider volunteering your time for the upcoming season.

When are uniform costs due?
Uniform costs are due at the time of uniform fittings.

Black practice shorts and white socks will need to be purchased:
- ankle socks for 3/4 grade team
- crew socks for 5/6 grade team
Do you have to live in Wylie to join?
NO!! We accept everyone, no matter what school district you are from!

What is the age requirement?
Individuals in 3rd grade through 6th grade
Team Breakdown?
Teams are broken down by grade.
Fall: 3rd/4th and 5th/6th
Drill Team Camp Fee?
Camp fees are included in the registration fee.
When will we receive a game schedule?
All game schedules will be released 2 weeks before the first game. The first game is typically the first Saturday after Labor Day.

YES! We will be offering discounts next season for returning dancers!

2026 FALL DRILL TEAM
Welcome to the WAYS Drill Team Registration. This registration is for the 2026 Fall Drill Team season.
Total cost: $290! Includes the $100 registration fee!
Online registration is required and will allow you to provide us with your dancer's information, contact information, your agreement to consents and policies, and submit payment in full.
There are NO LATE REGISTRATIONS.
*For sibling discounts, please choose the sibling pricing if you have more than one child participating in a WAYS sport during the Fall 2026 season!! *Must have a sibling listed in a current Fall 2026 WAYS sport to qualify. If not, your registration will be considered incomplete.*
*Multisport player: If you or a sibling played Winter WAYS basketball 2026 and are going to play a sport in Fall 2026. *Must have a winter 2026 team listed with the player's name. If not, your registration will be considered incomplete.*
* Acceptance of the participant and parent handbook is required to confirm your registration.
*There are NO REFUNDS once registration is closed.
