Cheer Attendance Policy

Your child can miss up to 6 total practices for the whole season.
Tardies are 10 minutes late to practice; 2 tardies will be considered 1 absence.
The cheer commissioner will be present at all practices, and late cheerleaders must check in with her.
Too many missed practices will include, but are not limited to, the cheerleader sitting out of their halftime routine at the next game, the cheerleader sitting out half a game, or the cheerleader sitting out for the whole game, including the halftime routine.
This may also result in your placement in a routine or stunt being moved or replaced. It is not only not safe, but it is also not fair to the other cheerleaders who are showing up to practice.

Mandatory Attendance

All cheerleaders will participate in 2 homecoming parades.
All cheerleaders will walk in downtown Wylie for the Wylie East Homecoming Parade and Wylie High School Homecoming Parade.
Dates will be posted once we receive information from Wylie ISD.
WHS homecoming parades are usually held on Monday evening during the week of homecoming.
WEHS homecoming parade are usually held on Wednesday evening during the week of homecoming.

All cheerleaders are expected to attend each and every practice.
Cheerleaders must be on time for practices.
Dress appropriately for practice (cheer practice t-shirt, athletic shorts/pants, running shoes, etc.)
No jewelry should be worn - no rings, bracelets, or dangling earrings. Studs are permitted.
Hair must be neatly pulled back and away from the face.
No gum chewing.
Cheerleaders are not to bring coffee or soda to practices. Just WATER!

The regular season has 8 games, a playoff week, and a Super Bowl game.
All games and cheer comp are considered mandatory. All cheer coaches rely on your cheerleader for squad placement for routines.
All games are played on Saturdays. There will be no weekday games. If a game is canceled and rescheduled, they will play the next day (Sunday).
Cheerleaders will travel with their teams.
Teams could travel to Rockwall, Heath, Greenville, Royce City, Caddo Mills, Forney, and Sunnyvale during our season.
Home games will be played at Jerry Shaffer Stadium, 516 Hilltop Lane, Wylie.
